Three years after announcing they were winding down their career, German hard rock veterans SCORPIONS appear to have changed their minds.

In an interview in the new issue of Classic Rock magazine, the band's lead singer, Klaus Meine, explained: "As the emotion built, it [not retiring] became a gradual decision. It's one thing to say, 'This is going to be the end of the SCORPIONS,' and another to do it. Our 'Sting In The Tail' album [2010] was such a success that a whole new generation of fans joined the party. It was amazing. And you know that with all the best parties, it's sometimes hard to find the door?"

I'm so excited to read that for sure! Bring on the next tour and album!

Maybe not the touring part of the equation , it must be so tiring .... but hey ! you`re never too old to compose and play !! voice is another item , ..but it pretty much seems to have passed the check list for now . :P

To say " we retire" ( i have the original words from this german news paper in 2010 ) was areally good, old idea for make money and fame! Business like . . .
But i hope this idea will not come back like a boomerang . . .
Hope they make small tours with great projects and new songs!
But the fanbase is still there, many new fans too and live, the Scorps are masters ;-)
we'll see . . .
"...and she gets down
i like to show why SCORPIONS got a sting"

Retirement !! No ! I don't think so ! Singers and musicians will always be creative ! As long as the moral and the health will follow .....they will continue ! it's their life !!!!!!!!

" DALIDA " a singer who died in 1987 sang this beautiful song " Die on stage " What a pity! I haven't found a video !
but here's a few words:

" There are those who want to die alone in a bed quiet in their sleep, Me ! I want to die on stage under the spotlights !! "

Scorpions !!!! I look forward your New CD New Creations I hope !! " Hope Is Life !!!"  8)

That was nicely put by Klaus lol The fans dont want them to retire, the band don't want to retire, they haven't lost any edge from what i seen at vagas gig then why retire, they can wind down gradually over the next 5 years if its ok with the wife's : )

two years ago, many many many fans sayed on this forum " yes they must retire now, with this good album !"
it is the good moment ! they are right, ! they are old ! why to continue?? ect ect to continue would be bad for their carrier ! "

they should have sayed like us " continue, don't stop at the top ect " old fans want listen to them many years again,... if they can ! i mean, the band is happy to see "please continue " .. and sad to see " they are right".
Maybe i'm wrong.. but maybe i'm right cause they continue ,seeing that they were sold out , and sold many many albums..
i m not happy to see FANS say: " you should stop" !

few guys sayd "no not now ! continue ! " scotts, i ,and several others..
i sent messages on the facebook page, the twitter of Rudolf, etc and post many messages with hopes ! who did it ?

we asked they continue ( in 2010, 2011, 2012, or on my post called "and now" before their announce few days ago ) ..

i m happy !

the fans who told us they should stop would probably not buy theit next albums ...ah ahhahha
i was raised on scorpions , till 1980 ! and i will buy their next albumsSSSSSSSSS !

Don't you remember when Matthias said in an interview that they are for sure retiring? That they are not a joke like other bands that come back? Well, I wonder what he feels about that statement now? Does that mean they are a joke then? sheesh  :? And he thinks *I* say wrong things. :P just kidding.... 8-)

The band said they are retiring from doing major tours and that they would play a show here and there. The recording a new studio CD has caught us by surprise. Because Amend told the band after hearing Sting in the Tail that the band could not do a better studio CD then that one and should call it a day as a band. Which i said back in 2010 was a slap in the face to the band. Why would you tell your employer this is as good as you will ever get so you should retire.

I for one is happy they are staying together and recording new material. I think the band promised us back in 2008 that they would do a studio Cd with old band members ( Michael,Herman and Uli). So maybe that is going to happen in the future. Plus you know that 2015 being the 50th anniversary of the band was to tempting to step away with that year coming in 2 years.

Just wish the band would sit in a room and talk over the problems they have with Francis and maybe just put things behind them and move on.

Why choose this now? Obviously they were not sure of its earlier decision, or worse, they lied! I'm happy in a sense, I'm a fan and that does not change.
Up again!
Is the best yet to come???? Scorpions, come to Uruguay!!!!
