Am I the only one who thinks Tom Cruise made quite a hot rock star in Rock for Ages ?? I have never liked Tom , not even on Top Gun , but I did like him at his 50`s on this movie .....

Maybe aging makes some of us sexier

Well , back on my senses :) .....MERRY CHRISTMAS to all my friends around the world ...

" Till you find the real meaning of Christmas, it doesn`t exist ...everything is appearance, ornaments...but there is neither the ornaments , nor the snow....It is not the tree , neither the chimney.
Christmas is about the warmth that returns to human hearts, generosity and selflessnes , shared with others...and the hope on moving ahead.... "

In his 50's???! Wow. I also never had something for him but he does look very...fit in that film (haven't watched it, just the part with the Scorpions songs)
I want to watch 'Eyes Wide Shut' now, because I read the 'Traumnovelle' from A.Schnitzler that it's based on, and I'm curious to compare. I first heard about it at the Uni, when a professor talked about it. It was really funny how he said "..when we heard it, we were like, Tom Cruise? That piece of wood, Schnitzler?? --- But he actually did it good, he did it good"

Merry Christmas Adriana and everybody!
It's a nice quote you put :)

I like your professor  Btw, I wanted to watch this film for a long time. And I'm just never in the right mood for it. But even seeing some stills from it, you understand that it shares at least one quality of all Kubrik's films - it is mesmerizing. :)

I have some problems at the Uni and a few at work. But I have superb plans for the New Year's night.

I am going to spend some days at my best school friend's home. Her mum is in Thailand, so she has the place to herself. And I couldn't bear to think of her "celebrating" New Year alone. That's just not how it should be. Right now we're discussing the menu.
My parents will be off to their friends' house too. So, basically, we leave our cat alone. I guess she won't mind.

“I have forgiven mistakes that were indeed almost unforgivable. I’ve tried to replace people who were irreplaceable and tried to forget those who were unforgettable. I’ve acted on impulse, have been disappointed by people when I thought that this could never be possible. But I have also disappointed those who I love. I have laughed at inappropriate occasions. I’ve made friends that are now friends for life. I’ve screamed and jumped for joy.

I’ve loved and I’ve been loved. But I have also been rejected, and I have been loved without loving the person back. I’ve lived for love alone and made vows of eternal love. I’ve had my heart broken many, many times! I’ve cried while listening to music and looking at old pictures. I’ve called someone just to hear their voice on the other side. I have fallen in love with a smile. At times, I thought I would die because I missed someone so much. At other times, I felt very afraid that I might lose someone very special (which ended up happening anyway).

But I have lived! And I still continue living everyday. I’m not just passing through life…and you shouldn’t either. Live! The best thing in life is to go ahead with all your plans and your dreams, to embrace life and to live everyday with passion, to lose and still keep the faith and to win while being grateful. All of this because the world belongs to those who dare to go after what they want. And because life is really too short to be insignificant.” — Charlie Chaplin

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my friends !!!

Well, you know ...I think we have this atavistic atraction for snow ...those white landscapes .... you feel mesmerized by it`s look . The same as fire , who doesn`t like the image of a chimney ?

But of course ..too much of both is quite catastrophic.

I will gladly share comments about the beach along with some pictures :D

you are not the first one who tells this to me. But somehow .... brrrrrrr ..... snow is damn cold. I prefer the gym. The only ugly thing about the gym is this mind dull making disco music. But my ipod is a good protection shield against it.

Right now I would love to swap places with Adriana :P

Adriana, I LOVED shovelling the snow! :D Well, I didn't really shovel, Hans did, I did the "second hand" with a hard brush (sweeper?). But it was oooh so niiiice and it had such nice weather, it was evening, getting a bit dark, but with no clouds in the sky, and the light of the dusk made such a nice combination with the white of the snow, .. oooh :D I so regret that I didn't take any photos then.
We liked it so much that we did the neighbor's snow too ( )

But indeed you need to have very warm shoes and gloves, then you can enjoy the snow. I didn't really feel cold the rest of my body, also when we had -8°C some time (<= yes, I realize that is a funny sentence for Galya) (and were locked outside of the house, searching for the key in the snow in the dark... ). But without good socks, shoes and gloves, it's much better to stay in the house and watch it from inside. That's also very nice :D

And now that you're talking about chimney's, I am very proud of myself, that I managed to light the fireplace (and keep it burning), from the first time I tried it. Ha, it's not so easy after all, like it looks in the movies! It has its system :geek:

Of course, I can't stand rap and hip hop, too. And I also like some kind of disco music, but not this primitive germany disco music made by unknown artist in some kind of cheap studio. I try to find an example of it in the i-net and post it here.

now I know who I can call when there's again snow in front of my house. Just kidding. Just as Tom said, having a walk in the snow can be a very nice experience, even when it's very cold (about -10°C, when Galya is lying in a bikini at the beach). The problem is first the moisture in the air and the wind. Without wind you can easily stand temperatures of -20°C or less. But when there is wind the heat of your body is taken away by convection and you become cold, quite fast.

Well, those are the terms on the equation of real feel temperature .... what kills ..is humidity

But , should we ran a search to look wich weather is better to develope human intelligence, I bet cold weather would win .... whenever it`s hot you feel lazy and like doing anything :P
